John Durbin is a sports executive with more than two decades of experience leading commercial strategy, marketing, and revenue growth initiatives. Most recently, he served as Chief Commercial Officer for FC Cincinnati, where he guided the club through record-breaking seasons, surpassing revenue goals, strengthening fan engagement, and helping launch MLS Season Pass in one of the league’s top-performing markets.
Before his time in Major League Soccer, John spent eight years with Pegula Sports & Entertainment, rising to Senior Vice President of Marketing & Business Strategy. There, he reshaped business operations for the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, introduced the highest-grossing merchandise campaign in Bills history through a landmark partnership with Bills Mafia, and developed long-term strategies that positioned both organizations for significant revenue growth. He also serves on the advisory board for USL Eugene, supporting the launch of a new men’s soccer club.
