Trailblazing Commentator and Altius Advisor Jess Mendoza to Speak at Texas Athletics Women’s History Month Event
AUSTIN, Tex. (March 20, 2023) – The University of Texas at Austin’s 4EVER TEXAS Student-Athlete Development Program is proud to announce that Jess Mendoza, a trailblazing Olympic Gold Medalist, ESPN analyst and Altius Sports Partners advisor, will be a featured speaker at the Texas Athletics’ Women’s History Month Event on March 20, 2023.
The event, will center around the theme of “Platform and Pivot,” which will explore the ways in which student-athletes and staff can utilize the strength of the Texas brand to expand their professional connections and achieve lasting success.
The event will provide attendees with the opportunity to participate in facilitated networking discussions, culminating in a fireside chat between Mendoza and Erica Sullivan, an Olympic silver medalist from the Texas Women’s Swimming & Diving team. The fireside chat will be followed by an open Q&A session. Prior to the event, Mendoza will also be visiting with the Longhorns’ softball team.
Mendoza’s focus will be to educate and empower UT student-athletes and staff to identify and enhance their personal brands. As a two-time Olympian and a member of the U.S. Women’s National team, Mendoza has continuously made history in sports. She is a three-time World Champion and World Cup Champion, in addition to being a two-time Pan American Gold Medalist. In 2019, Mendoza was inducted into the National Softball Hall of Fame. She is also known for being the first woman to serve as an analyst for nationally televised MLB games, as well as the first female ESPN MLB game analyst on television and radio.
The event is part of 4EVER TEXAS’s LEVERAGE program, which focuses specifically on Name Image and Likeness (NIL) Education. The LEVERAGE program educates student-athletes across four main areas: Personal Branding & Brand Management, Business Formation & Entrepreneurship, Opportunity Management, and Financial Literacy. Texas Athletics is a founding client of Altius Sports Partners who is providing education and support to the school’s NIL program.
