Dan is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of underdog & company, the parent company of Altius Sports Partners.
He founded LeadDog Marketing Group in 1999, growing it into one of the industry’s fastest-rising sports marketing agencies. Early in LeadDog’s success, Dan was recognized by Sports Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.” The agency served clients across sports and entertainment, including the NHL, MLB, USGA, USTA, WWE, Cirque du Soleil, and O, The Oprah Magazine. LeadDog also partnered with major brands such as Coca-Cola, Reebok, Intel, and Verizon, along with emerging startups like Whoop, Drone Racing League, and Athletes Unlimited.
In 2016, after being named Sports Experiential Agency of the Year, LeadDog was acquired by global sports marketing agency, CSM Sport & Entertainment. Dan was appointed CEO of CSM North America following the acquisition.
Prior to founding LeadDog, Dan began his career at the Houston Sports Association, owner of the Houston Astros, and later spent over seven years at the NBA. During his tenure, he helped lead the 1994 FIBA World Championship and oversaw men’s and women’s basketball at the 1996 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. He also served on the inaugural senior leadership team that planned and launched the WNBA, where he served as Director of Team Operations.
Dan currently serves as Board Chair of Up2Us Sports and Chair of the Advisory Board for SIGA AMERICA, the North American branch of the global Sport Integrity Global Alliance.
