Altius Sports Teams with NFL & NFLPA to Educate College Football Players on Transitioning to Professional Careers

CHICAGO, Ill. (January 24, 2023) – Altius Sports Partners, the leading advisor to elite collegiate athletics programs, today announced a strategic education-based partnership with the National Football League and the NFL Players Association to provide college football players with education, tools, and resources to prepare them for professional careers in the NFL. The comprehensive educational programming covers essential information the players will need to succeed as athletes and individuals.

“As part of our continued commitment to providing world-class support to our partner institutions, we are thrilled to join with the NFL and NFLPA to prepare college football athletes in their transitions to the professional space. Through our groundbreaking on-campus General Manager program, we’re now able to provide uniquely curated educational content ensuring future success for the athletes,” said Kim DeCarolis, ASP Vice President of Athlete Partnerships.

College football programs at ASP’s university partners can now have access to superior resources designed by the player engagement and development experts of the NFL League Office and the NFLPA. The NFL and NFLPA will provide official education assets to ASP’s client services team who will deliver the curriculum for football teams. ASP will serve as a resource for any athlete inquiries related to the NFL or NFLPA implications.

The NFL-NFLPA program through ASP is rooted in the principle of empowerment through education.

Elements of the education course programming include:

  • Marketing and sponsorship guidelines and guidance
  • Brand awareness and maximization
  • NFL league policies
  • NFLPA overview
  • NFLPA resources and opportunities

“Partnering with ASP allows us to continuously reach college athletes to deliver credible and consistent educational information on league business practices; and to assist athletes in making informed decisions as they transition to the National Football League,” said Arthur McAfee, NFL SVP Football Operations-Policy, Education, Partnerships and Pipeline Development.

“Working as a unit with ASP, we’ll be able to provide education and resources to our future members as they navigate their transition from college to the professional ranks and beyond,” said Don Davis, NFLPA Senior Director of Player Affairs.

Launched in July 2022, the ASP GM program represents the future of centralizing NIL as a standalone vertical within athletics departments. The program includes comprehensive education of all stakeholders, as well as a customized approach for each department.
